A Different Type of Workshop
This workshop is structured to engage any provider working in serious illness care. Designed to be in-person the goal is shared learning in the setting of protected time to begin to reconstruct palliative care practice, questioning some primary constructs and working to develop a model that integrates the learnings and experiences of clinicians practicing over the past half century.
We cover topics such as Family, Team, Assessment/Intervention, Pain, Ethics and Language understanding the intersectionality of this content – the horizontal and vertical planes of practice that create a tapestry of experience which joins patients, families, and staff.
Here are a just a few of the concepts that are interwoven throughout the workshop:
Continuum of Decision-Making Capacity
Disrupted Relational Difficulty
Structure and Stewardship
Terry Altilio & Vickie Leff are the faculty for the workshop.
